  • 3 tbsp white chocolate chips
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 5 tbsp self-rising flour or all-purpose flour + ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • tsp almond extract optional, for enhanced flavor
  • 1 tbsp strawberry jam
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a microwave-safe mug, combine the butter and white chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 30-40 seconds, or until melted and smooth. Stir well to combine.
  • Cool Slightly: Let the mixture cool for 1-2 minutes to avoid scrambling the egg.
  • Mix Batter: Add the egg, flour, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using) to the mug. Stir until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
  • Pre-Cook Batter: Microwave the batter for 5 seconds to help it begin setting.
  • Add Jam: Drop the strawberry jam onto the center of the batter. Do not stir.
  • Cook: Microwave for 50-60 seconds, or until the cake is set but still moist. Cooking times may vary based on microwave strength, so check at 50 seconds.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the mug cake cool for 1-2 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, and enjoy warm!
