Ingredients
  

Sandwich Filling

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 oz chicken breast thinly sliced
  • 1 large white onion thinly sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Assembly

  • 2 large bread rolls split
  • 4 Romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped

Instructions
 

  • Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, then remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
  • Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same skillet over medium heat.
  • Toss in the sliced onion and cook until it begins to soften, then add the bell pepper and continue cooking until the vegetables are tender.
  • Stir the Worcestershire sauce and the cooked chicken back into the pan, tossing everything together for a minute or two until heated through.
  • Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Layer the lettuce leaves onto the split rolls and top with the warm chicken and vegetable mixture.
  • Sprinkle the fresh dill over the filling before closing the sandwiches and serving.
